Covenant Health Ranked #37 in Nation’s “Top 100” Integrated Healthcare Networks for 2011

Covenant Health has been named one of the nation’s “Top 100 Integrated Healthcare Networks” for 2011 because of the system’s outstanding performance as a unified and integrated healthcare network (IHN). The announcement was made by SDI (formerly Verispan), a Pennsylvania-based healthcare data and consulting firm whose annual report is regarded as the nation’s premier rating system for integrated healthcare networks.

Covenant Health ranked #37 in the U.S. among participating health systems, climbing from a ranking of #43 in 2009.  It is the fourth consecutive year that Covenant Health has been ranked in the Top 100, and the second time the system has ranked among the top 50 respondents.

The SDI ranking identifies the top 100 IHNs among nearly 600 non-specialty local and regional networks in the United States that meet critical success factors. Health systems are ranked based on operations, clinical quality, efficiency and scope of services.

"The ranking places Covenant Health among the top 10 percent of health systems in the country, which is a significant accomplishment and an affirmation of our overall excellence,” said Anthony L. Spezia, President and CEO.  “We have an ongoing commitment to quality, and we are constantly looking for ways to improve our health system, from our clinical excellence to our operational efficiencies,” he added.  “Our progressively higher rankings in the Top 100 reflect Covenant Health’s achievements over the years.”
