Covenant Health Recognized as a Best Employer for Women

As with our three previous Forbes designations (we received Top Employer designations in 2016 and 2017), the Forbes ranking is based on a survey of workers at businesses across the country with at least 1,000 employees. Female respondents were asked about factors such as parental leave, discrimination and pay equity. The final list ranked the employers that received the most recommendations and which have the most gender-diverse boards and executive leadership.

At Covenant Health, as in many healthcare organizations, a large percentage of our employees are women. Our current workforce is 76 percent female, and women hold nearly half of our senior leadership positions. Their compassion, talent and expertise are visible at every level of our organization, from direct patient care to departmental managers, senior leaders and on our board of directors. Covenant Health is fortunate to have dedicated women working and leading throughout our health system, and I am grateful for their contributions to our success.

Soon after the Forbes designation, U.S. News and World Report published its annual Best Hospitals listing. In this year’s edition, Parkwest Medical Center is among the top 10 hospitals in Tennessee, ranked at #8, with High Performance recognition in several specialty areas. Methodist Medical Center and Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System also received High Performance accolades in specific specialties.
